Moved!
Well, the past two days are a bit of a blur! I am exhausted beyond belief, but could not be happier with our new home! On Saturday afternoon, Greg picked up the U-Haul and we spent the next few hours (with the help of our amazing friends Vitaliy, Rachel and Peter) loading up the truck and each of our cars. My mom came over to watch Ben while we loaded (and while we unloaded) so it was nice to be able to have him entertained!
I'm pretty impressed with how quickly it all went! Between the hours of 2:30 and 8:00 pm, the team had taken apart Ben's crib (Rachel) and our bed (Vitaliy), loaded and unloaded our entire life, and then put the beds back together at the new house.
Awkward expressions LOL.
All of our stuff at the condo
Saying goodbye to his tree. (And every time I look at this I get a little teary).
Maureen and Maeve stopped by to hang out once we arrived in Bothell,
and Ben and Maeve enjoyed the one-level floor plan!
Rachel introducing Ben to his new backyard.
Sunday morning. I obsessively deemed myself Project Manager of Project "Unload and Get These Boxes OUT OF THE HOUSE" for the day, and literally could not stop and sit down until 95% of our stuff was unpacked. (Which meant that Greg, too, could not stop and sit down without a series of eye rolls or loud sighs aimed in his direction). Sorry, Greg.
But now, we can relax! The hard work is done!
Soon I'll post some "after" pictures, and you will see what my next mission has become:
Project "Furnish".

Stitch Fix
A few weeks ago, I read about this company on another blog, and within minutes I found myself requesting an invite to join!
As a mom, the time that I have for myself is drastically reduced. (Duh). I used to have the luxury of wandering around the mall to do my own shopping. I could run out to the grocery store at any time if I needed a few last minute items for dinner. On the weekends, I could wake up in the morning, look at the various yoga schedules around, and choose which class I wanted to go to.
In an effort to spend my "me" time more productively, I am finding myself gravitating towards any and all online ordering and delivery services. IF ONLY I could find/afford someone to deliver us dinner each night. (Mom?) ;)
Anyway, (pardon the tangent) I came across this company called Stitch Fix.
How it works (in a nutshell):
1. You request an invite (they are slowly expanding and are in beta-testing right now).
2. Once invited, you create a style profile: what you are looking for, your sizes, what price range you are comfortable shopping in, identifying trends you like/hate, etc.
3. Choose when you would like your shipment, (aka "fix") to arrive.
4. They (the Stitch Fix stylists) will select 5 items based on your profile and ship them to you!
5. You try on each item, decide if you want to keep it (based on how it fits, the price, etc.) and send back what you don't want to keep.
Shipping to/from is free. The only cost (other than the price of the clothes you choose to keep) is a $20 styling fee. If you keep nothing, you are charged the $20 fee. If you keep one, two or ALL five items, the $20 fee is applied towards the cost of the clothing you keep! And if you keep all five items, you also get 25% off the whole order! Uh, score?
Anyway, my first fix arrived today and I think they did a great job! One of my favorite parts is that they also send a little style guide with each item with ideas of how to wear it.
I'm keeping 2 of the 5 items.
Fun tank that I think will be cute under a cardi and/or belted
Striped shirt - because I love anything with stripes
While I love the color and the pattern is cute, I think
(and my coworkers agreed) that it feels a little "old" for me.
I so wanted to love this jacket. Unfortunately, it is just a little too
similar to a black sweater I already own so I couldn't
justify the purchase.
Again, this scarf was great, but I have about a zillion scarfs.
So, for those of you that are into BirchBox or Citrus Lane, here is another "mystery delivery" service for you to enjoy! (And yes, these referral links hook me up, so feel free to use them) :)
Guess what tomorrow is...
MOVING DAY!
While Greg keeps reminding me how much moving sucks and says he will join in my excitement "once we are moved", I tend to disagree. You wanna know what sucks?
PACKING.
But Ben has been extremely helpful.

"Nice and Warm"
I had to share this story, because after my mom told it to me this morning, I have found myself laughing about it several times throughout the day.
My mom and I were discussing plans for when we would be introducing Ben to whole milk. Once Ben hits 1 year of age, we (me, my mom, Callie) will begin offering him regular whole milk with his meals. I had told her that I was going to try giving him cold milk to see if he would take it, as it seemed easier and faster than warming up his milk each time.
She agreed, and then told me about how when I was little, she continued to warm up my milk for a long time.
So long, in fact, that when she would attempt to offer it to me cold, I would hand it back to her and say,
"Nice and warm".
She guesses that whenever she would warm it up for me, she would hand it to me and say, "nice and warm" so that is where I got it from, but it still cracks me UP that I would say that.
I don't hear many stories about my being a particularly difficult child......although, they decided to stop with one...so maybe I was?
Anyway, I love toddler-me....and it's hilarious to see that my bossiness is something I was born with. And also, I cannot ever imagine Ben behaving this way. He seems way too go with the flow to demand a different temperature for his milk.
Knocking. On. Wood.
Lately (in photos)
I realized it's been a week since I have posted, so here is a recap of what we have been up to this week. (Becca's baby shower will have it's own post soon)!
My mom pulled out my first pair of shoes - and they just BARELY fit Ben.
Petting the kitty :) AKA how Ben will learn the word "gentle"!
Eating Fro Yo
Another Friday night BBQ at Dan and Jeannette's
Mani/Pedi date night afternoon
We took advantage of the 50% off at Carters.com and got some new clothes/jams for Ben - size 18 month already :(
That's about it for us lately. Moving day is THIS COMING SATURDAY, so we have a busy week/weekend ahead of us!
