40 Hours in Idaho

Our friends Jamie and Collin recently finished construction on their vacation home on Priest River, Idaho.  They have spent the past couple years (first purchasing land, then drawing up plans, then spending every free weekend they had doing much of the work themselves to get the house complete.  We have loved watching the process in pictures along the way, and last weekend we finally got the chance to go over and see it!

It was an extremely short (TOO short) trip as we had to drive over after work on Friday and return home before work on Monday morning.  Luckily, Ben is a trooper in the car and did an amazing job despite the 7+ hour drive!

We tried to make it fun.

We arrived too late to see this view, but this is what we woke up to!!

We got to see Baby Jailyn, whom we hadn't seen since she was 2 weeks old or so in March :)

We started our morning with a hike, followed by coffee and "McCoy McMuffins" and then packed up the boat to hit the water for a day of cruising, wake-surfing, snacking, drinking and swimming.

We pulled up to the dock at a restaurant for lunch and had Huckleberry Margaritas :)

That evening we grilled up salmon for dinner and enjoyed the views from their house.  We all slept SO great that night, too :)  Sun and wake-surfing will do that!

The next morning we headed out to the water to spend as much time as possible before it was time to hit the road again.

SUCH an amazing weekend!  We hope to head back in the wintertime for some skiing and red wine by the fire :)

Truly the best hosts.  Ben loved hanging out with Jailyn, Riley (the dog) and these two!  Many memories were made. :)
