Happy Birthday Lisa!

February 19th was my best friend Lisa's birthday, and Greg and I were lucky enough to celebrate with Lisa and her husband James that evening!  We met for pizza at Via Tribunali down on Queen Anne.  It was mine and Greg's first time there.  The food is beyond amazing - I honestly cannot wait to go back.  If sandwiches are my #1 craving this week, then pizza is definitely #2 :)

We had a great time catching up with them, hearing about the Gourmet Food Tour they took down by Pike Place Market earlier that day, and hearing about Lisa's upcoming trip to NY!  (Jealous).

Happy Birthday to you Lisa!  XOXO

* The picture above is not from this weekend - I suppose if I am going to blog I need to start taking more pictures to capture these moments!

10 Weeks!

How far along: 10 weeks - This picture most definitely is the "before" picture.  No visible changes, but I can tell any day now it will become more obvious!  (Fun side note about mood swings - I must have rudely asked Greg to take the above picture about 5 times before I was satisfied with one of them.  "NO - I said head to mid-leg", "Don't crop out my head", "ZOOM IN MORE", etc.  He is totally enjoying his ride on this hormonal roller coaster).
Weight gain: I'm not totally sure, but I'm willing to guess I've gained 1-2 lbs.  I will confirm next week when I have my appointment.
How big is baby: The size of a prune - just a little over an inch long and less than 1/4 ounce.
Maternity clothes: No, but some of my skinny jeans are feeling extra tight in the waist lately
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: Sleep for the most part has not changed since before I was pregnant, except I am able to sleep for much longer periods of time.  This week I found myself awake in the middle of the nights a few times thinking about names, child care, gender, etc.
Best moment this week: I was able to spend time with several of my friends this week and weekend - which was a fun change from my home-and-in-bed-immediately-after-work routine lately.
Movement: No
Food Cravings: SANDWICHES.  I feel like Joey from friends.  Lucky for me, February is $5 foot long on all subs at Subway ;) #Nom
Labor Signs: No
Belly button in or out: In
What I miss: I will be honest - I'm still missing wine.  This weekend was bright and sunny (although cold) and all I wanted to do was walk around the Woodinville wineries and go wine tasting.  I have decided that that might be one of the first outings Greg and I do together once we are ready to leave the baby for a few hours :)
What I'm looking forward to: I can't believe my 11 week prenatal appointment is finally NEXT WEEK.  I'm very much looking forward to that.  This week I have another massage lined up.  This weekend we are going to spend a day at the Christensen's (Dan, Jeannette and Laryd) cabin up on Snoqualmie Pass - looking forward to a day in the snow with good friends.

9 Weeks!

How far along: 9 weeks
Weight gain: No....bloated, yes.
How big is baby: The size of a grape!  And this week it officially graduated from embryo to fetus :)
Maternity clothes: No
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: This weekend I slept a full 12 hours both Friday and Saturday night (lame).  I'm sleeping soooo well too.
Best moment this week: I had a fantastic massage on Wednesday, which felt amazing.  I think I'm going to have to get referral from my doctor so that I can continue getting them throughout my pregnancy.
Movement: No
Food Cravings: I've been really into berries this week.  Also string cheese and pretzels has been my go to snack...but no real cravings I can think of.
Labor Signs: No
Belly button in or out: In
What I miss: I miss my super strong Americano's from Starbucks...and I miss having a glass (or 3) of wine.  I have decided that based upon almost everything I have read, and what my doctor(s) have told me, if I want 1 cup of REAL coffee, I'm going to just let myself have it!  The plan is to only indulge on days when I really am needing it though...
What I'm looking forward to: This week I have several fun things planned: Bar Method with Jamie on Wednesday, Restorative Yoga with Shauna on Friday, the Grand Opening of my friends' yoga studio on Saturday, celebrating Lisa's birthday with her Saturday evening, and then the Chi O Book Club on Sunday!

8 Weeks!

One of my absolute favorite things about other mom-to-be blogs is the weekly pregnancy survey!  I find myself referring back to my friends' blogs to see what was going on with them when they were ___ weeks along, and perhaps others will do the same with this blog :)  Since there is no physical evidence that I am pregnant yet, I do not have a picture - but I promise to start posting them in a few weeks!

How far along: 8 weeks
Weight gain: Not yet!
How big is baby: According to my weekly Baby Center email, the baby is the size of a kidney bean.
Maternity clothes: No
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: Oh you know, only about 10+ hours a night, every night ;)
Best moment this week: It actually was last week, but seeing the baby's heartbeat on the ultrasound was pretty spectacular!
Movement: Nothing from the baby yet, but as for myself, I have been pretty lazy this week.  I'm getting myself back in action tonight!
Food Cravings: Cheeseburgers have sounded/tasted better than ever.  So have bananas and peanut butter.  What has surprised me the most is my lack of cravings for sweets!  Before getting pregnant I was all about the chocolate, but now - not so much?
Labor Signs: NO!
Belly button in or out: Uh, in.
What I miss: I've struggled the past few weeks with feeling as if everything in my life is about to change, which clearly it is.  It's an odd adjustment to go from living your life and making decisions entirely for yourself, to thinking about how each and every choice might affect the baby.  I'm doing a lot better with this concept now - but hopefully this time of reflection will only help me in the future!
What I'm looking forward to: I'm really looking forward to the first trimester being OVER!  I have 4 weeks left, which is manageable.  I'm very much looking forward to sharing the news with my boss/coworkers and starting to brainstorm what my life as a working-mom will look like.
Weekly wisdom: My friends are so amazing - I'm lucky to have many moms to share opinions/concerns and ask questions to!  This week my friend Steph, who I have designated as my motivator for all things exercise-related, suggested that instead of trying to tackle working out with a "45 minutes or nothing at all" mentality, I try to break up my fitness goals into 15 minute increments.  So far this has been EXTREMELY helpful to get me going again :)

Visit to San Diego!

Last week, we were lucky enough to spend 5 days down in San Diego with our great friends Hilary and John.  To escape the dreary Seattle winter was nice, but to spend some quality time with our friends was excellent and much needed!  This trip definitely came along at the perfect time for me.  I have been feeling a little tired and probably a lot hormonal, so to have some time away from all of our responsibilities was such a gift!

John is an OBGYN, so the evening that we arrived he took us into his office and gave us our first ultrasound!  I was only 6.5 weeks along at the time so we really were not expecting to see much - but to our surprise we saw and heard the baby's heartbeat!  It was amazing and so surreal.  We also were happy to see that there was only ONE baby in there!  Twins do not run in our families, but hey - it's still a big relief! :)

(I realize you can barely see anything, but along the bottom is the heartbeat)!

We spent our days walking through Balboa Park or down on the beach, drinking coffee and trying new restaurants.  Our friends Charisse and Brad, who moved down to Palm Springs last Fall, drove down for a day and we were able to grab a couple meals with them and catch up!

Hilary's 29th birthday was another reason we planned the trip as we did!  We went out to a delicious brunch the day before her birthday with several of their friends and then brought the party back to the house for some Xbox Kinect Dance Central!  Good times :)

Thanks Hil and John for being amazing hosts - we can't wait to come visit again!
